Hela Kallel recently joined CEPI as CMC Technology Lead. With over twenty-five years of experience in process and vaccine development, Hela has led teams at the Institut Pasteur de Tunis (1996–2019), advancing cost-effective, high-yield processes across live/attenuated, subunit, and vectored vaccine modalities.

She directed the clinical development of veterinary rabies vaccines and the preclinical development of human rabies vaccines, managed multiple international projects, and supervised numerous doctoral candidates.

From January 2020 to February 2025, Hela worked at Univercells and Quantoom Biosciences, overseeing viral vaccine process development using scale-X technology and mRNA production, and leading vaccine co-development programs with external partners.

Dr. Kallel holds a Ph.D. in biotechnology from France and has authored more than forty scientific publications.
